Arthur Abel Joseph Turner and Ellen Turner formerly Smith
       Image taken at rear of Hall Farm.  This family moved to this farm in 1922 from Carr Farm.
       Born 10 November 1886 at The Elms Farm, Palterton, p. Scarcliffe, son of Cornelius Hufton Turner.
       He married Ellen Smith and they had 5 children.  She was born 17 September 1887 at Morton,
       Derbyshire, the third of twelve children born to George Smith and Anne Elizabeth formerly Richards.
       Arthur and Ellen Turner farmed Hall Farm, Palterton for many years from 1922.

Ellen Turner formerly Smith
   Ellen Smith married Arthur Abel Joseph Turner son of Cornelius Hufton Turner.  They lived at Carr Farm
   until 1922, when they moved to Hall Farm, bought the previous year by his father.  The couple had five
   children namely Arthur Albert b. 19 March 1912 at Yew Tree Farm, Heath.  Cornelius b. 5 March 1913
   at Yew Tree Farm, Heath.  Elizabeth (Beth) b. 17 July 1915, Ellen b. 29 January 1917 and George
   b. 3 February 1919 all at Carr Farm, Palterton.

Ellen Turner formerly Smith with family
   Ellen Smith married Arthur Abel Joseph Turner son of Cornelius Hufton Turner.  They lived at Carr Farm
   from 1915 until 1922, when they moved to Hall Farm.  Four of their children are herein.  Top L to R:
   Arthur Albert b.19 March 1912 and Cornelius b.5 March 1913.  bottom L to R: Elizabeth (Beth)
   b.17 July 1915 and Ellen b.29 January 1917.  George b.3 February 1919, not on photo.

   This image of Edward 'Ted' Frith b.1891 at Palterton and his future wife
   Lily West b.1894 at Bolsover.  The date of the photo is 16 November 1908.

   This image refers to the Churn family circa 1906/1907, taken at Mrs. West's front door. 
   They are L to R: Walter Churn, Annie Churn, Bertha Churn, Alice Churn (baby in arms),
   and Mary Churn (standing front right).

   This attractive young woman is Annie Mosley and the image was taken in 1926.
   She was formerly Annie Frith and the mother of Joyce Mosley, who has kindly
   loaned me this image.
