This image is dated circa 1919. It is the cottage on the east side of the road opposite Poulter Wells.
Mrs Cocker and son Harold are sat on the wall. This image was sent to an address in Floats Road,
Baguley, South Manchester.(possibly to a girl servant). It was sent to a Miss A.E. ?? by T. or S. A.
Floyde. The wording thereon: "Received box this morning. Thanks very much for it. Am sending parcel
on Friday. Do you know this house? It is Smiths at the bottom of Palter Well".
1920's/1930's. Enquiries continuing to identify the members.
from left is Harry Elliott. The man standing behind him hands on hips is George Elliott. The goalkeeper is
Frank Elliott. Scarcliffe had many good teams during the C20.
This Womens Institute ran for many years prior to the one at Palterton. Identities of the women :

This very old image of Main Street, Scarcliffe taken at the top end. To date none of these people has
been identified. A close up of the children can be seen as an image in the "Who are they?" section.
The man with the cycle is believed to be a "Jack Heath", but it is conjecture. The houses on the right
are still standing. This is a very rare image of Scarcliffe.
This is an old image of the Elm Tree Public House dated pre 1950s.
The pub now renovated and refurbished still trades. It is located at the bottom of Main Street.
This image of an old cottage. long since demolished, was located on Main Street,
close to the Parish Church. At present (2007) I know nothing about this cottage nor the occupants.
This is another old image of Scarcliffe Railway station complete with the Hunt family thereon. Their names are L to R. Stationmaster George Hunt,
Jessie Hunt, Kathleen Hunt, Eric Hunt and their Housekeeper. The name of the second Station man is not known (March 2007), nor is that of the other child.
George Hunt was the station master in 1912 but not yet established his period at this station.

George Rimmington is also hereon. Can you help with the names of the youngsters?

A Scarcliffe photo that has at least one Palterton player thereon. Can you help with the names of any of these footballers?
Although not yet identified, certainly George Rimmington a Palterton man is hereon. He was one of the best local footballers
at this time.
I think it is a reasonable to believe there will also be an Elliott hereon.
